My Story

My husband and I went on a getaway to relax and have fun. He is retired and a disabled combat war veteran, so we try to find places to enjoy that are peaceful and fun. We stayed at the resort WorldMark by Wyndham on Monkey Island, which was cool, the scenery was absolutely amazing. We had access to Shangri-La and the golf course was great and what a nice Marina too with beautiful boats and boathouses. We went to Monkey Island Winery and Cottages for a wine tasting, it was great. They had a farm with animals as well and we enjoyed the horses and other animals. We ate at Shebang restaurant it had an old- time theme and the food and service was delicious. Miller Pecan Co was interesting! We have never seen so many different ways to use pecans and the Parlines was GOOD. Cherokee Casino was fun, the staff was awesome and we even won a little money not to mention the fried fish at the restaurant we are still talking about how we enjoyed the food and how clean the casino was and how friendly the staff was too. We really enjoyed Bernice State Park the camp sites and the beach was clean and we had a wonderful time there as well, quiet and peaceful so relaxing and it was not crowded. Lastly one of my favorites the Cherokee Queen Riverboat Cruise the view was breath taking and I got to enjoy it with my wonderful husband. After touring and enjoying the city we had a chance to just kick back and relax on the patio to our room and laugh and talk and just enjoy each others company. We had a wonderful time and plan on bringing our grandkids back to enjoy the experience and make memories.
